We arrived Hong Kong yesterday afternoon. Our flight ended up being at the correct time at 12 noon. We got some conflicting information from the airline website, the airline phone service, and the travel booking site. All of which were giving me different times. Finally i got it clarified and everything worked out. So we went for Indian food last night and it was very tasty. Today we got up early and hit the Peak Tram. Went to see the skyline and it was a bit smoggy but it was a good view nonetheless. After the tram ride up, we walked down (about an hour walk) the hill to central Hong Kong and headed for the ferry to go to Lamma Island. We stopped at this little eatery and got squid and chicken on sticks dipped in sate and spicy sauces. it was delicious. We walk across the island and that took about 1 hour and 30 minutes. A good hike along coast. We stopped at a beach and sat on the rocks for a bit. It was nice as we had a nice breeze there otherwise it was hazy, hot, and humid today, but it didn't rain. Then we went to Kowloon and had some dinner. Wonton soup. it was great. After that we saw the light show. A busy but fun day. I know we have a lot of catching up to do with the pictures. we'll get to it soon.
The title of this post was a phrase we kept saying throughout China. Any time we couldn't get something in China...we'd say "maybe in Hong Kong." Those things include peanut butter, unscented soap, Indian food, other western food options, etc. so far we had Indian food. Peanut butter is the next priority.
Hong Kong so far has been sweaty but awesome.
